Sofie BiosciencesSofie Biosciences was established to implement a new molecular imaging probe discovery process for molecular diagnostics with Positron Emission Tomography (PET). The basic premise of Sofie (derived from the Greek word for “wisdom”) is the use of differential screening approaches along with an array of new technology platforms to accelerate the selection, synthesis, labeling and validation of molecular probes for critical transitions of cells from normal to various states of disease. These probes can serve as biomarkers in the drug discovery and development processes and for molecular imaging diagnostics in patients. The differential selection processes employed in Sofie are closely aligned to discoveries on the biology of disease and to existing and new molecular therapeutics. Several new molecular imaging probes are being accessed in humans and a recent Nature Medicine paper has garnered much pharmaceutical company interest as well as exploring the diagnostic use of an analog of Eli Lilly drug — Gemzar®. Sofie also possesses proprietary instrumentation and technologies for high-throughput preclinical PET imaging and radiochemistry. |
